BOO BUDGET CUTS!

If you live in California, you have probably heard of the budget cuts. Well, my school was severally sufering from the loss in money. Teachers were giving out extra credit for bringing in packs of copy paper! How crazy!!!!!

This year, they made our school day 45 minutes shorter!!!!! Our school is getting out at 2:40 insted of 3:15.  That is kind of good, because it means less school, but it sucks because now we don’t have an early day on Wednesday!

Not only do we have a schedule change, but an elective change. Sixth graders don’t even get an elective! They get

  • One Reading Period
  • One Language Arts Period
  • One Social Studies Period
  • One Science Period
  • One Lunch Perod
  • TWO MATH PERIODS!

I think that’s crazy! Having 2 periods of the same class sucks! in seventh and eigth grade, you get all the same classes, but if you scored accelerated on the tests, you get only one period of math and an elective!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunatly, the elective choices are sucky. :(

There used to be

  • Choir
  • Band
  • Spanish
  • Yearbook
  • Life Skills
  • Art
  • Photography
  • Teacher’s Assistant
  • Pre College
  • Cooking

Now, we only have three choices:

  • Band
  • Art
  • Piano

I chose piano. The budget cuts suck for giving us a   bad choice of electives! :( :( :( :( :( :(

Flour Baby Galore!!!!!!!

The sixth graders in Life Skills class at my school have started Flour Babies. Yes you know what they are! The sack of flour with a diaper, and a little onesie on it, that you have to carry around for an entire week!

I think it is an awesome idea, and although I have a real baby in the house, I want a flour baby. I however am not in life skills, I’m in choir. Which, leaves me babyless. Luckily, my friend G is in life skills. She me the official godmother, of her/our baby. gaby named her Fawn. I am very excited to have a “baby” to take care of for two weeks. I will have to help change her, carry her, feed her, and watch out for her. I’m very excited!

I Love You Dad

For school, I had to write an ode to a parent. It had to include alliteration, a simile, a metaphor, an idiom, and a contrast in nature. I chose to write about my dad. Here it is:

Dad, Thanks For

Always knowing what to do
Teaching me all the truths
Guiding me like a shepherd
Being there when I need you

Saying what should be said
Wrapping me in the warmth of the sun
Always saying break a leg

Tummy tickle time
Supporting all my hobbies
Always being an eagle

Letting your wallet walk into my hands
Driving me around the world
Introducing me to roller coasters

Giving me all that I need and more
Allowing me to discover
Joking around and having fun

You’re the dad for me!

I thought it was really sweet and will get me an A! I love you Daddy!
